Julia Samuelson, BSN, MPH, EISO, is a nurse epidemiologist with over 30 years of experience in multiple countries. She is contributing to the global goal to reduce HIV incidence through research, guideline development, advocacy and support for programme implementation of evidence-based interventions, focused mainly on Africa. She participated in forming the WHO Nurse Midwifery Task Force and brings together nursing and HIV including to reduce stigma and discrimination in health care settings. Julia served at diverse local, country and global levels – including the WHO HIV Dept and the US Centers for Disease Control as an Epidemic Intelligence Services Officer (EISO) focused on maternal-child health and behavioral surveillance.
